Typical Fees
We have a 30 year reputation in our industry for providing low cost services. That is why many people including architects and even other permit expeditors call on us for help when they need advice. We work hard to keep our fees low.
Full Permit Expediting
Includes permit preparation, coordination and submission of the application. Regular checks with the building department and follow up to see permit issuance. We will assist and guide you for the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy.
Small Projects Expediting
Cost effective alterative for people that need a little help getting the application submitted and then want to take over by themselves.
Expenses
We collect for expenses such as large size blueprints, mailing, express mail and
other expenses that my relate to your project.
Other Fees & Expenses
Surveyor Fee - The building department will require a survey drawing as part of the permit application. If your survey is outdated, you may need to get a new one. We can help you get a survey if you need one.
Architect or Engineer Fee – Your project may require blueprints or drafting work. Sometime architectural drawings are required which has the potential to be the most expensive part of the project. If you do not have an architect, we can help you get the architectural drawings you need or an architects ‘sign off certification’.
Municipal Fee – Municipal building permits fees will be determined by the building department.
Special Permits – Sometime municipalities require special permits for things like Zoning Variances, Septic Permits or, Accessory Apartments. These are potentially time consuming application and may require a public hearing.
Electrical Inspection Fee – Electrical Inspection are sometimes required. An outside inspection agency may be needed to inspect your project and issue a ‘Electrical Inspection Certificate’. These fees are generally minimal. In some cases, a licensed electrician will need to ‘sign off’ on your project.
Plumbing Inspection Fee – If there is plumbing involved, the municipalities will require a plumbing permit and inspection. You may need a Licensed Plumber to ‘sign off’ on the plumbing work.
Repairs – Sometimes the Building Department will require repairs for things that represent critical life safety issues or other code violations. The inspectors are well trained by New York State and are encouraged to do their jobs.
